"Given that we had a budget, one of the things that we did early on was agree on our top three wedding priorities. Instead of making everything a priority we choose the three most important elements and focused our attention/splurging on them. That left other elements to fall into place and it allowed us to be comfortable with compromise in areas that were not as high on the priority list. Whether your number is three or something different, the prioritization coupled with constant open communication really helped us to remember what was important in all of this."
